DIMIER CHINESE MARKET GOLD, ENAMEL & PEARLS 8-DAY GOING WATCH "DAUPHIN FONTAINE" Dimier Frères, (Fleurier), No. 31209. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. Very fine and rare, 18K gold and painted on enamel, pearl set, eight-day going with two barrels, dead centre-seconds pocket watch.

Three body, Empire with split-pearl set bezels, pendant and bow, reeded band, the back enamel panel painted with an alpine lake view, in the center a dolphin fountain, a border of flowers and trees. Hinged and sprung glazed gilt brass cuvette. White enamel with radial narrow Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds ring. Blued-steel "Chinese" hands. 50 mm., gilt brass, eight clay going fully foliate engraved with twin free standing barrels barrels, Jacot dead beat duplex escapement, three-arm balance with blued-steel winged weights, flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed in Chinese characters "Tien-yé" for Dimier.
