DUBOIS ET FILS AUTOMATON GOLD Dubois et Fils, Empire Fashion, Swiss, No. 7486. Made circa 1815. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, quarter-repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacks in Empire costume.

Three body, Empire, polished with reeled band and polished bezel. Gilt-metal cuvette hinged to the movement ring. Small white enamel with Breguet numerals, outer minute track. Gilt Louis XV hands. "Martin- Martine" type varicolored chased gold Jacks of a lady and gentleman dressed in Empire costume on each side of the dial on a royal blue enamel background, appearing to strike the hours and quarters on two bells. Gilt brass,Lepine caliber with skeletonised and partly engraved bridges, free standing barrel, flat balance spring, repeating on two gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
