LINER NOTES Seeing Art and Paul on stage at Monterey was a throwback experience, and unlike many other bands, they were well known already then. The new San Francisco sounds and the polished but innovative LA bands were more cutting-edge at this moment, but Paul and Art put on a great show with their folk music sound and sweet voices. Paul was one of the organizers of the festival and was amazed by many of the new performers, especially Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Otis Redding. -Elaine Mayes
