A very fine and rare, 22k gold, manual wind open-face, key-winding pocket watch with repoussé case. Outer case decorated with a classical allegorical scene depicting Cupid and the Loves, within an asymmetrical Rococo cartouche and pierced foliate outer border. Inner case of “bassine” form, the band pierced and engraved with floral motifs, the front engraved with a small village scene. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer arcaded minute ring and Arabic five-minute numerals. Gold “Louis XV” hands.

Caliber 28 mm., hinged, frosted-gilt full-plate movement with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved single-footed cock, silver regulation dial with Roman numerals. Repeating on a bell, activated by depressing the pendant.
