Notes

Eszeha

The house Eszeha was founded in 1904 in Pforzheim, Baden-Württemberg (Germany), by Karl (I) Scheufele (1877-1941). The company specialised in the manufacture of jewellery watches.

Karl (I) Scheufele invented a clip that allowed a pocket watch to be worn as a wristwatch, using an innovative system, which was patented in 1912. He subsequently filed numerous other patents, notably for purse-watches.

His son, Karl (II) Scheufele (1907-1966) took over the company after the First World War and passed it on in 1958 to Karl (III) Scheufele (1938), the grandson, then aged 20. It was the latter who, in 1963, bought the Chopard manufacture (L.U.C.) in Sonvilliers (Bernese Jura), founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard (1836-1915).

Karl (III) Scheufele and Karin Scheufele are the father of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele (1958) and Caroline Scheufele (1961), who currently co-manage the family group.
