Muller? Early Keyless Watch With Compass A. Muller, Locle, No. 751, retailed by De By & Fils, la Haye. Made circa 1855. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, early keyless, half-hunting cased pocket watch with integral compass.

Four-body, basine et filets, foliate engraved with polished borders, the front cover with glazed aperture and applied gold radial Roman numerals on a matted chapter ring, the back cover set with a compass surrounded by applied gold points of the compass on a matted chapter ring, flat-top crown. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 18 ½???, unusual caliber, 15 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed by the retailer, movement signed A. Muller, Locle, on the dial plate. Diam. 48 mm.
