The Cintrée Curvex is perhaps the purest expression of Franck Muller’s unmistakable design language, and in the reference 8880 T its dramatic architecture provides the setting for one of traditional watchmaking’s most celebrated complications: the tourbillon.

The imposing 18K white gold case is curved in three dimensions, following the wrist while giving the watch its characteristic sculptural presence. Its elongated proportions frame a deep black dial dominated by Franck Muller’s signature oversized Arabic numerals, whose sweeping forms follow the contours of the case. Against this monochromatic composition, the exposed tourbillon at 6 o’clock becomes the visual focal point, bringing movement and mechanical depth to the dial.
Visible beneath its polished bridge, the tourbillon reveals the regulating organ in constant rotation. It is driven by the manually wound calibre FM 2001-2, a movement that reflects the manufacture’s longstanding association with complicated mechanical watchmaking.

The contrast between the cool white gold case, expansive black dial and exposed mechanics gives this example a particularly strong presence. Large yet elegantly curved, it captures the exuberant character that established Franck Muller as one of the defining independent watchmakers of the modern era.
