SWISS THE BATH OF BATHSHEBA ENAMEL PAINTED PENDANT WATCH Swiss. "The Bath of Bathsheba". Made circa 1690, the movement by Francois Hochenadel a Vienne, No. 150, circa 1770. Fine, 22K gold and painted on enamel pendant watch with fine painted on enamel dial depicting Venus and Adonis.

Two-body, "bassine" with curved-in edges, the back painted with the scene of the Bath of Bathsheba, the interior decorated with a rural landscape, the band with four cartouches depicting countryside landscapes, loose ring pendant. Enamel, gold base, bold radial Roman chapters on a white annular ring, the center with a finely painted scene of Venus and Adonis. Gold Louis hands. 34 mm., hinged, gilt brass full plate, conical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, pierced and engraved foliate continental clock, polished steel endplate with faceted garnet endstone, silver regulation dial. Movement signed.
