LINER NOTES This is the shot that Frank called "The Sharp Eyes of Truth" in his book Days of Hope and Dreams / An Intimate Portrait of Bruce Springsteen. As we've come to learn, this image was actually shot during the Darkness on the Edge of Town sessions. Since The River was a natural progression from Darkness, Bruce chose this shot for the cover.
