Gérald Genta is one of the most respected names in luxury watchmaking due to his creative horological designs, employing innovative shapes and materials with mechanical complexities.
Gérald Genta’s great works commenced with refreshing Omega’s Constellation collection, earning himself a reputation as a celebrity designer. By the 1970s, he was hailed as one of the greatest watchmakers of all time.
Gérald Genta-designed watches include Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus. The IWC Gérald Genta Ingenieur, which first debuted in 1955, was reimagined by Genta in 1976. Genta also collaborated with jewellery brands like Van Cleef & Arpels, Chaumet and Cartier. Another huge success was the Bvlgari-Bvlgari Gérald Genta watch inspired by an ancient Roman coin. The Bvlgari Octo Gérald Genta watch was released in 2012.
Genta is equally endorsed for his Disney watches. In the 1980s, he obtained a license from Disney to design limitededition watches decorated with the most famous Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse.
