Very fine and rare 18K gold, hunting-cased, keyless lever pocket chronometer with free-sprung spherical balance spring and special balance. This movement design was the predecessor of famous three-bridge model. Made for the South American market.

Constant Girard 1825-1903 who changed his name to Girard-Perregaux after marrying Marie Perregaux, the daughter of a well known chronometer maker, established his reputation as a maker of precision watches. The company did business first with Peru and Chile, and then with Argentina.
