Case and movement signed. DIAM. 31 mm. THICKNESS 9 mm. The career of SEVERIN WUNDERMAN (1938-2008) spans over several decades in the luxury watch industry. In the early 1970's, he had his first major break when he launched the fashion-forward GUCCI Timepieces. Yet, his biggest success came in 2000, when he purchased CORUM and set out to elevate the brand into a new stratosphere. He re-energized the product line with a distinct fresh and young appeal: The outrageous Bubble models and the whimsical limited edition timepieces turned around the company into a multi-million dollar success. An avid art collector and philanthropist, in 2005, he was awarded the French Legion of Honor. He continued his lifework as a philanthropist by supporting various foundations and also establishing his own THE SEVERIN WUNDERMAN FAMILY FOUNDATION focusing on medical research of incurable diseases and THE SEVERIN WUNDERMAN COLLECTION OF CHILD SURVIVOR TESTIMONIES FROM THE HOLOCAUST from his experience during his youth.
