GLAESNER, LES SCIENCES LES ARTS ET L’ASTRONOMIE, GILT BRASS

A fine and very rare Louis XVI small ormolu mantel clock with 8-day going movement and hour and halfhour striking capability. The rectangular base rests on four turned feet and features pearled and interlaced decoration. The clock is surmounted by a globe and elegantly flanked by branches of laurel and palm. The movement is supported by a small square fluted column, while various instruments representing the arts and sciences lie artfully arranged at the base.
