In 2001, Glashütte Original presented the PanoRetroGraph, the first mechanical watch with a 30-minute countdown function and triple-repetition chime. When launched, this original invention not only shocked the entire watch market but also was awarded the prestigious title “Watch of the Year.”
This exceptional timepiece was limited to just 50 pieces in platinum and 150 pieces in white gold. The PanoRetroGraph offers a sophisticated chronograph function with its indicator located on a half-moon shaped window on the right side of the dial.Most remarkably, the watch features an innovative countdown function paired with a chiming mechanism that announces theend of the timed event. To use this distinctive function, the wearer can set the desired countdown time by pulling the crown toposition 2. After setting the countdown time and pushing the crown back, the countdown begins by pressing the pusher at 10o’clock. Upon completion of the countdown, the watch chimes elegantly to alert the user.
