GUBELIN, OVERSIZE SPLIT-SECOND CHRONOGRAPH E. Gubelin, Swiss, case No. 862206. Made in the 1930's. Impressive and very rare, oversize, stainless steel wristwatch with coaxial single button chronograph and split seconds.

Three body, polished and brushed, lapidated shoulders, inclined bezel, coaxial chronograph button with rectangular split-second button to the band. Black with painted arabic and dart indexes, inner minute and 1/5th second divisions with 5 minute numerals, outer tachometer and telemeter scale, subsidiary dials for seconds and 30 minute register. Yellow dauphine hands. 17.67"', rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, index regulator.

Dial signed, case and movement numbered. DIAM. 43 mm. THICKNESS 14 mm. Coming in at an impressive 43mm. there is no doubt that these were often intended for military use. Similar in size and stature as some similar models by Omega, Universal and Longines, this extremely rare Gubelin split-second chronograph with black dial are almost never seen and is the first example ever offered by Antiquorum.
