Notes

Initially made by Hermes in 2009 for their scarves, the motif represents Alexandra David Neel and her companion making their way to the forbidden city of Lhasa. Made in a special edition of 12 pieces only by master artisan Buzan Fukushima, it uses a technique known as Aka-e using red and ocher shapes of hand-painting on the porcelain dial. A true art form almost lost today completes this beautiful 39.5 mm case and upon release had a retail price of CHF 60'000.
