Notes

This version of Monaco Ref. 1133 with slightly darker blue metallic dial marked "Monaco Automatic Chronograph", and with straight squared polished steel hands is considered the transitional model, falling between the earlier "Chronomatic" version and the later regular production. The transitional examples, fitted with the Cal. 11 movement, were only manufactured in 1969. The current owner purchased this watch from Butterfield & Butterfield auctioneers in San Francisco in their 1991 sale dedicated to the estate of Sammy Davis Jr. He has retained the auction catalogue, invoice and all correspondence relating to the purchase. We are grateful to Jeff Stein for his input in researching this watch.
