Notes

Heuer “Silverstone”
The Heuer “Silverstone” was launched in 1974 as the replacement for the Heuer “Monaco”. Its name comes from another famous Formula 1 racing track, in Northampton (the Monaco of the North). The model was available with a choice of three different dial colours: blue, with a pale blue dial and a metallic blue inner-bezel (Ref. 110.313 B);Brown or “Fumé” (smoked), with a star-burst dial and matching inner-bezel (Ref. 110.313 F); Red, with a gloss red dial and matching inner-bezel (Ref. 110.313 R). The “Silverstone” reached cult status for collectors since Swiss Formula one driver Gianclaudio Giuseppe “Clay” Regazzoni (19392006) was sponsored and seen sitting in his Formula one car wearing the blue-version dial. There is another “Silverstone” launched by Heuer in the early 1980’s when a series of Lemania 5100-powered watches were released. The watch doesn’t really share any of the design elements of the original Calibre 12 “Silverstone”, but wear the “Silverstone” name. In 2010, TAG Heuer relaunched the “Silverstone” to mark the 150th anniversary of Heuer / TAG Heuer. The re-edition, made in limited quantities, is almost identical to the original.
