According to an official announcement made in the Swiss Watch and Jewelery magazine dated 1969, a secret joint venture had been created between Heuer-Leonidas, Breitling, Hamilton-Buren and Dubois-Depraz to develop a brand new self-winding chronograph mechanism. Known as the caliber 11, it explains the close relationships of these brands at that time.
