Notes
Property of the original Swiss owner The gold Carrera 1158 CHN is probably the most iconic gold chronograph ever produced. Seen on the wrist of some of the most iconic Formula One drivers at the time, Jack Heuer had the genius idea to have the drivers wear a patch on their racing suit in exchange of this iconic model. For this reason such legends as Ronnie Peterson, Nicki Lauda, Mario Andretti, Clay Regazonni, Jacky Ickx, Gilles Villeneuve among others are seen to be wearing it. According to the dash, the watch was available as a special order only due to its prohibitive price at the time and in 1977 this model retailed for more than $ 4'000 and was only produced in 150 pieces. Consigned from the original Swiss owner, the watch has remained in excellent condition not having been detailed since its purchase. Its case still exhibits two beautiful strong and crisp hallmarks on the sides, the dial is in mint condition with all its original lume dots still in place and the original Gay Freres bracelet is in excellent condition showing little stretch.
