HUGUENIN INDEPENDENT SPLIT-SECONDS J(ules) Huguenin, Locle (Swiss), No. 11925. Made circa 1880. Very fine, rare and unusual, large and heavy, two-train, hunting-cased, keyless, 18K yellow gold independent split-seconds watch with 1/4 seconds foudroyante.

C. Four-body, ?bassine et filets?, engine-turned with polished borders, reeded band, push-pieces on the band for the stop/start of each hand. Hinged gold cuvette, glazed gold-rimmed cover over the movement. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, 1/5th seconds chronograph divisions, sunk 1/4 seconds diablotine. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Cal. 20???, maillechort, fausses côtes decoration, double train with tandem winding, 25 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, independent split-seconds train. Dial and movement signed, case numbered. DIAM. 56 mm.
