Guilloché (engine-turned) case-back, with, in the centre, an escutcheon.

White enamel dial with apertures for the Arabic numerals.

Movement 18’’’, gilded brass, going barrel, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balancewith gold poising screws and blued steel flat hairspring, polished steel index-regulator.

Movement based on the English invention patent No. 5 863, delivered on December 8, 1882 (letter patents dated July 8, 1883), to Josef (or Joseph) Pallweber (?-?), Salzburg (then Austria-Hungary Empire), for “Improvements in Time-Pieces”, for a watch without hands, with digital jump-hours and -minutes device.

This patent is also registered in other countries:
· German invention patent No. 25 042, delivered on May 18, 1883.
· Spanish invention patent No. 36 668, delivered on August 29, 1884.
· American invention patent No. 312 754, delivered on February 24, 1885.
· Canadian invention patent No. 26 958, delivered on June 15, 1887.

This patent is used by the International Watch Company, IWC, Schaffhausen, under the management of Johannes Rauschenbach-Schenk (1856-1905), and, the Manufacture Cortébert Watch Co., Juillard & Co., Cortébert (Bernese Jura), under the management of Albert Juillard-Morel (1827-1909).

Very soon, the invention is upgraded and registered in different countries:
