Notes

IWC, "The Fliegerchronograph"

The IWC "Fliegerchronograph" was one of the first ceramic made chronographs (an earlier model of the Da Vinci did exist) and quickly found a cult following among IWC collectors. Known to be extremely difficult to work with and prone to scratching combined with a high retail price at the time of launch, some estimate its total 2/3 years production run to around 1 000 pieces.

This particular example is in close to new condition showing no scratches, perfect case numbers on the case-back, a mint original dial and hands and as it should, German calendar disks as the watch was sold through a Swiss German retailer, Uhren-Baur, Konstanz / Constance. Without a doubt the most collectible “youngtimer” watch by IWC as reflected by current collectors demand.
