Notes

IWC, Ref. 3799 “Double Chronograph” or “Doppelchronograph”, for Carlson, Hong Kong
This reference was especially made the Carlson boutique in Hong Kong, in only 50 examples, in 2001.
This special edition of the IWC split-seconds chronograph (or “Doppelchronograph”) features a blue navy dial in a black ceramic and titanium case. It does not have the “Top Gun” logos on the case unlike other “Top Gun” edition wristwatches from IWC.
The cases of the Pilot’s “Double Chronograph” “Top Gun” edition – but also this “Carlson” edition - are made of black high-tech ceramic; the crown, push-buttons and back cover of matt grey titanium.
The calibre 79230 (21 600 b / h) chronograph movement is protected against magnetic fields by a soft-iron inner case and, thanks to its split-seconds hand, can be used to measure intermediate times. The date display is reminiscent of an altimeter.
