Astrolabium No. 1 Richard Daners fecit Luzern, retailed by Gubelin, movement by IWC, No. 2218181, case No. 224720. Made especially for Monsieur Wickl in 1983. Very fine and extremely rare 18K gold, keyless double-sided astronomical astrolabe pocketwatchwithmean and sidereal time, phases of themoon and separate plate on the back with gold alidade.

Silver ring with champlevé Roman numerals, annular revolving gold ring in the center engraved with annual calendar and rotating with sidereal speed showing sidereal time, gold Zodiac ring, center engraved with different latitudes, gold rete on the back with gold rule. Blued-steel hands, the hour hand fitted with a gold sun at the end, the minute with gold disc in the center symbolizing the Earth. M. Cal. IW(C) 972, 35 mm, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance with self-compensating Breguet balance spring, micrometric regulator. Signed on dial, case, movement ring, the movement signed by IWC. Diam. 51 mm. Thickness 12 mm.
