Astrolabium No. 1 Richard Daners fecit Luzern, retailed by Gübelin, movement by IWC, No. 2218181, case No. 224720. Made especially for Monsieur Wickl in 1983. Very fine and extremely rare, 18K gold, keyless, double-sided astronomical astrolabe pocketwatch with mean and sidereal time, phases of the moon and separate back with gold alidade.

Silver ring with champlevé radial Roman numerals, I-XII in each half, annular revolving gold ring in the center engraved with annual calendar and rotating with sidereal speed showing sidereal time, gold Zodiac ring, center engraved with different latitudes, gold extra back engraved with months, signs of the zodiac and 4 sectors calibrated 0-90 degrees, rotating gold alidade with folding sights. Blued-steel hands, the hour hand fitted with a gold sun at the end, the minute with gold disc in the center symbolizing the Earth. M. Cal. IW(C) 972, 35 mm, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straightline lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, micrometric regulator. Dial and case signed Gubelin, movement ring and case signed R. Daners, the movement signed by IWC. Diam. 51 mm.
