Notes

Production of a limited edition of 50 pieces to celebrate the 125th anniversary of IWC in 1993.The "Portuguese" wristwatch originates from the 1930's, when two importers from Portugal requested a wristwatch that could be reliable but with the same dimension as a pocket watch. To please the clients, the master watchmakers of Schaffhausen decided to use the best pocket movement in production at the time, and built a large and robust steel case around it.After the enormous success of the present limited edition from 1993, the "Portuguese" was presented again at the 1995 Basel Fair.
