Notes

Ref. 5441This wristwatch was produced as a limited jubilee edition of 500 pieces in pink gold for the 125th anniversary of IWC, 1868- 1993. The final '8' in the calibre number '9828' is to indicate this special jubilee edition. The 'Portuguese' wristwatch originates from the late 1930's when two importers from Portugal requested a reliable wristwatch but with the same dimensions as a pocket watch. To please the clients, the master watchmakers of Schaffhausen decided to use the best pocket watch movement in production at the time and built a large and robust steel case around it.
