Notes

The IWC Mark IX, known as the special Pilot’s watch, was the first of the specially made watches for military use. Equipped with the caliber 83 that was shock resistant and tested to extreme temperature variations as needed in the aircraft cockpits of the time. Large radium numerals, an inner revolving bezel and a large 37mm.case for the time are the perfect combination to make this a collectible watch even today. This present example was sold on August 18th, 1937 and is accompanied with its original box and its Extract from the Archives.
