Notes

Never offered at auction before and in virtually unused condition, these references 1908 (equivalent to reference 866A in the old numbering system) Ingenieurs fitted with "military style" Mark 11 dials are extremely rare. According to some IWC scholars it seems that these were "test" watches intended to be distributed to the Bundeswehr. This would also explain the matt grey coating to the watch to minimise reflections. Still accompanied by its numbered hang tag and its extract from the archives, without a doubt the only such example ever offered at Antiquorum, is one of the rarest Ingenieurs available to the market today.
