Notes

In 2010, IWC celebrated the Portuguese collection by introducing the Portuguese Grande Complication, marking the first time a grande complication was featured in a Portuguese case. This timepiece embodies some of the greatest achievements in watchmaking, including a perpetual calendar mechanically programmed until 2499, a perpetual moon phase display, a chronograph, and a minute repeater. Available in red gold or platinum, the 45 mm case is distinguished by an engraving of a sextant on the back cover—a fitting symbol of marine navigation, given that the Portuguese collection was initially developed with the goal of creating a wristwatch that could match the precision of a marine chronometer.
