J FOURNIER MARINE CHRONOMETER J. Fournier, Bd. du Montparnasse 57, Paris, No. 35. Made circa 1895. Fine mahogany 49-hour going marine Chronometer with power reserve indication. Accompanied by the original ratchet key.
Three body mahogany deck watch type box. Matte silver with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down sector. Gilt brass spade hands. Brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain and maintaining power, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, two-arm compensation balance with poising weights and timing screws, free sprung polished steel helical balance spring, diamond end-stone.
