Magnificent and rare 22K gold and enamel, single-hand pendant watch. Case in 'bassine' shape with curved-in edges, entirely painted on enamel, the main scene on the back, depicting Meleager and Atalanta, taken from an engraving by Cornelis Bloemaert after a painting by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1641). Meleager, the King of Calydon's son, presents Atalanta, the virgin huntress, with a boar's head after the Calydonian boar hunt. The band decorated with four vignettes each depicting a different house situated close to a lake or a river, linked by a yellow ribbon. The eamel inside the back with a fisherman in a lakescape, later gold pendant and bow.
