Notes

Atmos “Marina”
Production of this model started in 1962. The Atmos “Marina” were available in mainly four types of decorations:
· Fish (Ref. 5806 and Ref. 5810);
· Caravelle (Ref. 5804 and Ref. 5808);
· Chinoise (Ref. 5805 and Ref. 5809);
· Bees (Ref. 5803 and 5807).
They were available with either black or opal (white) Perspex (Lucite) panels and the bee motif seems the most sought-after of the four. Home aquariums became popular in the 1950’s and the use of tropical fish as decorative motifs has become associated with the 1950’s and 60’s.
The Perspex (Lucite) panels, with three-dimensional inset castings of fish and plants, were no doubt inspired by the famous Dunhill aquarium table lighters of the 1950’s.
