Ch. Bertout, Boulogne sur Mer, movement by Lecoultre, circa 1900. Fine 18 ct. gold, keyless pocket chronometer with Bulletin de 1ère classe de l'Observatoire National de Besançon No. 29114, awarded at the timing contest.

C. Four body, massive, "demi-bassine", polished, the back engraved with the monogram "J.B.". Hinged gold cuvette engraved with technical details and mention of the awarded prize. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Gold "spade" hands. M. 18"', gilt brass, 19 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, palladium balance spring with terminal curve. Signed on the cuvette. In very good condition. Diam. 51 mm.
