D. white with applied gold tritium-coated indexes, outer ring with blued steel Arabic numerals, auxiliary dials for the days of the week, the months, the days of the months, and 24 hour register, aperture for the moon phases. "Skeleton" blued steel tritium-coated hands. M. Calibre 919, rhodium plated, 36 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance-spring. The "Grand Reveil" This watch was produced in 1989 by Jaeger LeCoultre. It has a unique feature, an alarm-bell which is struck by a hammer. This was a novel concept for a wristwatch- to combine a complicated mechanism, the perpetual calendar and moonphases, with an alarm. The Alarm According to Jaeger LeCoultre, the alarm strikes on a special gong cast from a bronze alloy known to the Chinese Late Ming Dynasty for its long-lasting resonance. The gong is suspended inside the case so that it vibrates musically when struck by the hammer. The alarm rings for almost 20 seconds until turned off. Limited Editions The platinum and 18K pink gold versions were each produced in a limited edition of 250 pieces.
