JAMES PICARD GRANDE & PETITE SONNERIE MINUTE REPEATER YELLOW GOLD James Picard, Geneva, case No. 10474. Made circa 1880. Fine and rare, hunting-cased, keyless, 18K yellow gold clockwatch with grande and petite sonnerie striking and minute repeater.

Four-body, bassine et filets, polished, reeded band. Hinged gold cuvette over a transparent gold-rimmed cover. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blue steel Breguet hands. 43 mm. rhodium-plated, two-train with differential winding, 35 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, striking the hours and quarters on gongs with two hammers, Silence/Sonnerie selection lever on the edge of the bezel, repeating activated by a slide on the band.
