JAMES PICARD MINUTE-REPEATER HUNTING CASED YELLOW GOLD James Picard, Geneva, No. 3893. Made circa 1880. Very fine and rare, large and heavy, 18K yellow gold, keyless, minute-repeating, hunting cased pocket watch.

Four-body, "bassine et filets", engine-turned with polished borders, reeded band, the front cover with an applied gold scroll monogram "J.A.H", the back cover with the applied gold crest of the Holmes family with the motto "Justum et Tenacem Propositi". Hinged gold cuvette, glazed gold- rimmed cover to view the movement. White enamel with narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. 45 mm.(20```), nickel plated, fausses côtes decoration, 31 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band.
