Notes

This watch is a very good example of a paillonne enamelled decoration, technique introduced by Jaquet Droz as early as 1775. The peacock leather pattern was much in favour in China, but scarcely used for the European Market. Jaquet Droz took Leschot as partner from 1784. Due to its low number, this watch was certainly produced soon alter the beginning of the association.
