Notes

Jardur
Established by Samuel Klepper, himself a pilot, the company was established in 1937 in New York and was specialised in flight equipment, including watches. Whilst the second and third execution dials are regularly seen featuring the black dial with the red degree scale, these first generations featuring a copper degree scale are extremely rare and represent some of the most attractive and desirable version of the Bezelmeter ever made. The brand became forever tied to history when James Howard Dutch, president of the North American Aviation, gifted a Jardur 960 Bezelmeter, very similar to the one sold here, to General Jimmy Doolittle. The watch can be seen in the Smithsonian museum in Washington.
