LINER NOTES For a time in the mid '80s the Apollo Theatre would have weekend afternoon shows. I think the admission fee was $6.00. I would hop a train to Harlem, dine at Sylvia's and catch the shows. On this day the place was only about half full. It was all pretty casual. I went down front, crouched and took a few frames. Then suddenly some of the lights went off, leaving only the single spotlight. That's when it all came together and I knew I had my shot. -Joe Rosen
