JULES F.U. JURGENSEN DETENT ESCAPEMENT YELLOW GOLD Jules Jürgensen, Swiss, No. 227. Made circa 1870. Very fine 18K yellow gold key-wound Chronometer pocket watch with detent escapement.

Three-body, "bassine", polished, reeded band, hinged cuvette with aperture for winding and hand setting White enamel with black radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands. Gilt, half-plate, jewels in gold screwed chatons, detent escapement with elongated fork, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, large index regulator.
