JULES MONARD GRANDE & PETITE SONNERIE MINUTE REPEATER YELLOW GOLD Jules Monard, Geneva, No. 24964. Made circa 1900. Very fine and very rare open-face, keyless, 18K yellow gold pocket watch with grande and petite sonnerie and minute repeater.

Four-body, bassine, polished. Hinged gold cuvette, levers in the band for silence/sonnerie and grande/petite sonnerie White enamel with radial arabic numerals, outer minute track with red 5 minute arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blue steel pear hands. 43 mm. rhodium-plated, double train with differential winding, 30 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, striking the hours and quarters two hammers, repeating activated by a slide in the band.
