Apocryphal signature Very fine example of a probably Genevan watch, bearing the apocryphal signature of one of the most famous Parisian watchmakers of the time. On the chatelaine is punched several French stamps of metal control: "hache, le fer à droite" (ax, with its iron on the right side) -> old gold check stamp (used between 1798 and 1819); "E T" in a horizontal rectangular stamp -> old gold check stamp, especially used for goods at auction
