Notes

Grandjean, L. C., Le Locle
Watchmaker active in Les Ponts-de-Martel, near Le Locle, who produced high-quality repeater watches from 1887 to 1905.
He also made watches fitted with a two-train movement, split-seconds chronograph and jumping 1⁄4ths of a second. The jumping seconds hand, also called “foudroyante” in French, indicates fractions of a second when the chronograph function is activated.
