L. LEROY NO. 1496, PARIS MARINE CHRONOMETER Leroy, "Interrupteur Electrique," No. 1496, Paris. Made circa 1890. Fine, mahogany 48 hour going marine deck Chronometer with power reserve indication.
Three body mahogany deck-watch type box. Brass bowl with screwed bezel. Satine silver with radial Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and Up-and- Down scale. Gilt brass spade hands. Frosted gilt brass full plate, relieved for the barrel, with cylindrical pillars secured by screws, fusee with chain and maintaining power, the barrel passing through the back plate, and secured by a bridge, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, two-arm compensation balance with cylindrical weights and timing screws, free sprung blued steel helical balance spring with terminal curves, diamond end-stone.
