Notes

The movement No. 3 481 882 (calibre 18.79 ABC) is originally cased in a 14K gold open-face pocket watch. This watch was invoiced on June 5, 1920, to the firm A. Wittnauer Co., Longines’ agent for the U.S.A., with a dial inscribed “Bigelow, Kennard & Co.”, named after a retailer in Boston, MA (U.S.A.).

It is not known at what date this movement was placed in this marine chronometer box.

We would like to thank the Heritage Department of the Longines Manufacture, Saint-Imier, for this information.
