Notes

The watch is exceptionally well-finished, with Guillaume balance, end stones on the entire escapement and very fast train (probably 36,000 b/h). The aluminum case is typical oh those companies submitted wristwatches for the observatory contests. After WW II Longines began producing high quality wristwatches. In 1947 they won first place in Geneva Observatory Contest. The present piece continues this tradition. After the competition the company apparently kept it in its original aluminum contest case.
