Notes

Part of the series of dirty dozen watches ordered by armies for military use, the Longines reference 23088 was their answer to this request. Fitted in a 37 mm screw-down case and fitted with a chronometer grade caliber 12.68Z movement, it was the only brand of the 12 that fitted its movement with shock protection.

As most military watches, the caseback were often swapped due to damage or loss, but this particular example has its matching “585” assignment number repeated on its lug.
