The Extract from the Archives, dated October 16, 2017, mentioned that this watch was invoiced on July 17, 1945, to the Longines agent, Baume & Co., London, United Kingdom of Great Britain.

Part of the series of dirty dozen watches ordered by armies for military use, the Longines Ref. 5707 (23 088) was their answer to this request. Fitted in a 37 mm. screw-down case-back and fitted with a chronometer grade calibre 12.68 Z movement, it was the only brand of the 12 that fitted its movement with shock protection.
